Jalapeño Lime Fire Cider

Fire Cider is a yummy creative way to get your daily dose of medicine

Fire cider is an excellent example of the people's medicines and kitchen witchen!! It is a great tonic to boost immunity & digestion, increase cardiovascular health, support sinus and allergy issues all while giving your inners a big ol’warm hug! And a herbal friend when we are feeling sick with congestion, cough, upper respiratory, digestive and arthritic complaints. There are no rules here! Let your imagination run the show. And remember: There are only happy accidents -Bob Ross

Recipe

Jalapeno Lime Fire Cider: 1 quart

½ cup organic onions chopped - with skin

½ cup organic (if can) horseradish chopped

¼ cup organic ginger chopped

¼ cup organic garlic chopped - with skin

½ -1 whole jalapeno (seeds are spicier, so you can remove some)

1 whole organic Lime (juiced and chop up peels)

Local Raw Honey to taste

Be creative:

Turmeric, Rosemary, Thyme, Hibiscus, Orange, Lemon, Tangerine, Elderberry, Cinnamon, Cilantro, Pomegranate, and any kind of peppers that float your boat!

  • Place herbs in a quart canning jar and cover with enough raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar to cover the herbs by at least three to four inches. Cover tightly with a tight-fitting plastic lid.

  • Place the jar in a warm place and let it sit for three to four weeks. Best to shake every day to help in the maceration process.

  • After three to four weeks, strain out the herbs, and reserve the liquid.

  • Add good local raw honey to taste. Typically I add 1/4-1/2 cup

  • Bottle and label with ingredients and date! Store in fridge and enjoy as a daily tonic, in salad dressings or other recipes that call for vinegar.

Dosage: A small shot glass with water daily serves as an excellent tonic or take teaspoons if you feel a cold coming on. Can be taken frequently at the onset of sickness
